A programme designed to keep you on the edge of your seat

MOZART La Clemenza di Tito Overture
TCHAIKOVSKY Piano Concerto No.1
BEETHOVEN Symphony No.3, 'Eroica'

Genius, revolutionary, rebel - there are so many words used to describe Beethoven, many of which also epitomise his ground-breaking Symphony No.3. Composed at the turn of the nineteenth century, the 'Eroica' Symphony is one of the most profoundly compelling masterpieces in music. Antony Hermus conducts an electrifying evening which pits the music of an angry young genius against the full-throttled drama and sweeping intensity of Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto, performed by the incomparable Boris Giltburg. Mozart's La Clemenza di Tito Overture opens a programme designed to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Cadogan Hall

For more than seven decades the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) has been at the forefront of music-making in the UK. The Orchestra's regular performances at its London home Cadogan Hall are complemented by a distinguished series at Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall, a hugely popular series at the Royal Albert Hall and frequent visits to its seven principal residencies across the UK. With a wider reach than any other UK large ensemble, the RPO has truly become Britain's national orchestra.

This Event is at Cadogan Hall

Cadogan Hall SW1X 9DQ 5 Sloane Terrace, London

Cadogan Estates purchased the Hall in 2000 to safeguard its future. Through their connection with Opera Holland Park, Cadogan discovered that the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra was looking for a permanent base in London. The Orchestra is proud to have assisted with Cadogan's aim to bring the former church back into useful life in a manner befitting its character and civic presence.

Despite the scale of the auditorium, the combined effects of the stage, the steeply raked stalls and the low gallery create a surprisingly intimate venue where audiences can experience a very real feeling of being part of the performance.

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is proud to be Cadogan Hall's Resident Orchestra.
