Celebrate the extraordinary works of William Shakespeare in a unique theatrical evening

Celebrate the life of William Shakespeare in this unique theatrical evening, narrated by Sir Derek Jacobi and Samantha Bond. Accompanied by choral and orchestral music interludes from stage and screen by such composers as Craig Armstrong (Romeo + Juliet), Stephen Warbeck (Shakespeare in Love), William Walton (Henry V Suite), Henry Purcell, Ralph Vaughan Williams and Nigel Hess' beautiful scores from Royal Shakespeare Company productions, the Bard's most famous speeches will be vividly brought to life, alongside scandalous backstage anecdotes to create an entertaining night to remember. Directed by Guy Unsworth.

Royal Festival Hall

For more than seven decades the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) has been at the forefront of music-making in the UK. The Orchestra's regular performances at its London home Cadogan Hall are complemented by a distinguished series at Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall, a hugely popular series at the Royal Albert Hall and frequent visits to its seven principal residencies across the UK. With a wider reach than any other UK large ensemble, the RPO has truly become Britain's national orchestra.
