BBC Concert Orchestra

From The King's Speech to The King and I, from The Last Emperor to The Queen - royalty from all corners of the world and all eras of history has fascinated film makers since the dawn of cinema.
As part of her Majesty the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, BBC Radio 2 and the BBC Concert Orchestra, along with some very special guests, bring you a concert of music from the big and small screen with a distinctly royal flavour.
The mission of the BBC Concert Orchestra is to bring inspiring musical experiences to everyone, everywhere, with the ensemble's versatility as the key. The orchestra can be heard on BBC Radio 2's Sunday Night Is Music Night and for BBC Radio 3 it explores a wide selection of music, ranging from classical to contemporary. The orchestra has performed on many soundtracks, including Blue Planet and Serengeti for BBC One, as well as on George the Poet's award-winning podcast for BBC Sounds. The orchestra appears annually at the BBC Proms and is an Associate Orchestra at the Southbank Centre.

As well as the main concert hall, the Queen Elizabeth Hall also contains two smaller venues, the Purcell Room and The Front Room at the QEH. Festival Village is located on the ground level of Queen Elizabeth Hall, underneath the foyer entrance and the Roof Garden on the top of the venue.
