Angela Gheorghiu joins the LPO for an evening of operatic favourites.
Angela Gheorghiu has been thrilling audiences with her unique talent for over 20 years. As a rising star in 1994, a stunned Sir George Solti heard her in rehearsal at Covent Garden performing in La traviata: ‘I was in tears. I had to go out. The girl is wonderful. She can do everything.’ Gheorghiu has continued to delight ever since, and this evening she performs specially selected arias from some of the greatest works in the operatic repertoire including La bohème, Madama Butterfly and Andrea Chénier, interspersed with a selection of complementary orchestral music.
