About this event
The London Philharmonic Choir celebrates its 80th anniversary with two moving works about peace. Fauré’s ‘Requiem’ brings comfort and calm through some of the best-loved music written for choir and orchestra. Vaughan Williams’s ‘Dona Nobis Pacem’, composed during an uncertain decade, is a stirring plea for sanity. And best of all, there’s a birthday gift for the choir from Dame Judith Weir, a composer whose music shows the strength of simplicity. Edward Gardner is joined by two of the world’s finest living singers for a very special night.
