Hilary Hahn plays Mozart

When Brahms completed his First Symphony, some critics called it 'Beethoven's Tenth'. But while Beethoven's influence is clear, Brahms created something entirely his own: a symphony full of drama, warmth and unforgettable melodies. It's the perfect match for LPO Principal Guest Conductor Karina Canellakis, whose performances with the Orchestra are known for their energy and intensity.

Before that, Canellakis conducts Schumann's dramatic Manfred Overture, inspired by Byron's poem, and Mozart's playful Fifth Violin Concerto. Written for the composer himself to perform, it's brought to life tonight by acclaimed violinist Hilary Hahn, whose combination of elegance, precision and personality has made her one of today's most admired soloists.
