Grieg Piano Concerto
Brahms Symphony No. 4
Fantasy, German-style. Pianist Federico Colli joins the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra in Grieg’s Piano Concerto – the warm heart of a wildly romantic concert.
Federico Colli is the name that every piano fan is talking about right now – and it’s no wonder. ‘Federico Colli illuminates each work’s uniqueness and his beautiful sound consistently beguiles the ear,’ wrote The Sunday Times, and this award-winning young Italian pianist simply has it all. We’re delighted to welcome him to Cadogan Hall in Grieg’s hugely-popular concerto: expect this evergreen classic to blossom more beautifully than ever.
It’ll make a magical centrepiece to this concert from the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra under its British chief conductor Jonathan Darlington, and a luminous contrast to two German romantic classics. Weber’s overture conjures a tale of witchcraft and wonder in the German forests. Brahms’ magnificent final symphony, meanwhile, begins with a sigh – but ends with a tempest.
