Be captivated by the artistry of Alice Sara Ott in music by Beethoven and Field, pushing the traditional boundaries of the piano recital.
Ott’s multimedia concerts and creatively themed recital programmes have won her devoted audiences around the world.
Following her residency here at the Southbank Centre in Spring/Summer 2024, she returns for a special concert to launch her latest recording (on Deutsche Grammophon).
Tracing a journey through Beethoven’s life – from one of his simplest piano sonatas, the poetic Op.49 No.1, to his mystical late style in the rhapsodic Op.109 – it also includes the twilit magic of the ever-popular Moonlight Sonata.
Ott intersperses these Beethoven sonatas with a selection of the serene Nocturnes by the composer’s contemporary John Field, who invented this evocative and atmospheric genre.
