Serenade brings together major string works from the Edwardian repertoire, including Vaughan Williams’ icily ethereal Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis and Britten’s Serenade for TenorHorns and Strings, alongside Arthur Bliss’s Music For Strings, and Elgar’s Introduction and Allegro for Strings.
