Summer Games

There are just so many fun games to play in the summer months when the weather is good, such as  tennis, beach volleyball, badminton… the list goes on! Schoenberg and Gershwin famously liked tennis and often played together in the US.

This playlist travels through moments where sport and music come together, beginning with the Finnish composer Rautavaara ‘Le Bain’, the Golden Age by Shostakovich, another keen tennis player, and ending with Turina’s sketch from Jardin de ninos, ‘Games on the beach’.
