For the last century, the Strasbourg Philharmonic has played an important part in French musical life and we’re very pleased to welcome this distinguished orchestra to Cadogan Hall for the first time.
Under its conductor Marko Letonja, the Orchestra will perform four masterpieces from the French repertoire starting with Berlioz’s vibrant Roman Carnival Overture.
We are most fortunate to have one of the world’s greatest pianists, Nikolai Lugansky, performing that most romantic of all piano concertos, Rachmaninov’s Second.
The second half will feature Ravel’s serene Mother Goose Suite followed by his dramatic evocation of the waltz, La valse.
