Julian Joseph plays Gershwin
That roofraising blast of sound is something that you simply have to hear live!
There’s no mistaking how Saint-Saëns’s ‘Organ’ Symphony got its nickname. Now add the playing of organist Anna Lapwood, the unbounded creativity of Julian Joseph (described by The Stage as ‘the most significant jazz musician this country has produced’) and Joseph’s own improvisatory version of Rhapsody in Blue (played the way Gershwin himself would have played it). Under the charismatic direction of Jader Bignamini, making his LPO debut, the result is a concert that makes favourite classics sound new all over again.
Win a signed programme from Anna Lapwood!
To celebrate a new academic year of Student Pulse, organist Anna Lapwood will be pre-signing 50 concert programmes for Student Pulse bookers who book before 10am on 21 November. All bookers will be automatically entered into the prize draw and the 50 winners will be contacted the day before the concert with details on how to collect their signed programmes on the night.
