Fantastical flair and ambitious arrangements come together in this bewitching programme from the award-winning pianist Federico Colli.

Schubert: Fantasia in F minor, D.940 arr. Grinberg for solo piano

Prokofiev: Visions fugitives, Op.22; Peter and the Wolf arr. Nikolayeva for piano
Since winning the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2012, Colli has become a favourite with audiences the world over, described by International Piano as ‘the most scintillating and personal of all young artists’.
The acclaimed Italian musician turns tonight to a programme of fantasy works, not all of them first intended for piano solo.
Alongside Mozart’s Fantasies K.396 and K.475 and Prokofiev’s slivers of quirky dreamworlds, the Visions Fugitives, he performs an arrangement by Maria Grinberg of Schubert’s intensely personal Fantasy in F minor, originally for piano duet.
Colli’s concert concludes with Prokofiev’s beloved musical story Peter and the Wolf, arranged for piano by the great pianist and close friend of Shostakovich, Tatiana Nikolaeva.
