About this event
Katia and Marielle Labèque regularly dazzle audiences worldwide with their virtuosity, versatility and charisma.
Tonight there’s a chance to hear them in music that overflows with fairy-tale magic.
Opening with Debussy’s seductively exotic Epigraphes Antiques, they continue with Schubert’s Fantasy in F minor for duet, a work filled with understated passion and longing.
Ravel’s ballet suite Ma mère L’oye (Mother Goose) follows, a piece that twinkles with fairy-tale enchantment.
The pair finish with a work by the great minimal composer Philip Glass, 4 Movements for 2 pianos. Glass himself is a fan of the pair, saying ‘the Labèque sisters are tremendous. They are great performers, and great interpreters. And they are wonderful supporters of music, not only modern music, but just music.’
