An all-minimalist programme from the keyboard collective spans 60 years, featuring works by Philip Glass, Gabriella Smith, inti figgis-vizueta and John Adams.
Glass’ early minimalist primer Music in Contrary Motion is paired with movements from his rarely heard 1977 album North Star.
They provide a foil to the ecstatic and affecting music of new generation composers Gabriella Smith and inti figgis-vizueta.
The concert culminates in John Adams’ Hallelujah Junction.
Organist James McVinnie is a Southbank Centre Resident Artist for Spring/Summer 2024.
